Higher Education

With a robust set of programming, the Department of Coaching and Induction is investing in the talent pipeline by creating tiered professional pathways through Higher Education Colleges and Universities, to advance and recruit Educational Support Professionals and Non-Instructional Staff, and strengthen the retention of current educators through certification support to obtain their Florida Professional Certificate.

Teacher and Paraprofessional Support

Goals are to Provide:

  • Higher Education Pathways Coordinator: to coach and support educators and ESP’s in the varying pathways to obtaining credentials, share certification options and act as a liaison to higher education institutions and school-based employees.
  • Para-to-Teacher Liaison: to recruit Educational (ESP’s) into Para-to-Teacher program, and provide individual support on the diverse programs, and college admission requirements/procedures for enrollment.
  • Ongoing Support & Collaboration: to ensure the fidelity of programming, BCPS, and institutions will provide ongoing support with Academic Advisors.

 

PARA-TO-TEACHER PROGRAM

PARA-TO-TEACHER & NON-INSTRUCTIONALPROGRAM

Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) is investing in Education Support Professionals (ESP’s) and non-instructional staff by building a talent pipeline for them to become full-time certified teachers.

CREDENTIALING PROGRAM

CERTIFICATION PROGRAM

Provides support for certification workshops for current educators on temporary certificates, and ESP’s entering the teaching profession.

Higher Education programming is built to increase the advancement and recruitment of quality employees (ESP’s), and invest in the retention of current teachers.
