Records Retention

Welcome to the Records Retention transcript request page. Please review the Information below carefully to ensure your request is submitted correctly and without delay. 

The Records Retention Office assists students who need to obtain their school transcripts. School transcripts are legal documents accepted as proof of graduation or attendance. 

All educational records are protected under the FERPA LAW and thus do not fall under the Public Records Law. 

For students currently enrolled in a Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) school or for student who have transferred, please contact the student's current school or the most recent of enrollment to request records.

Records Management does maintain Exceptional Student Education (ESE) or English for speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) records. For assistance with these records, please contact the school's ESE or ESOL coordinator directly. 

The Records Retention Department is closed to the public.

Mail-in requests and in-person (walk-in) requests are NOT available.

All transcript requests must be submitted online only.

Transcripts are NOT faxed.

Need a copy of your transcript? Complete the online request form to submit a request for your official or unofficial transcript. Please provide accurate and complete information to help us process your request as quickly as possible. Incomplete or incorrect information may result in processing delays. Once your request has been submitted, it will be reviewed and processed in the order it is received. If additional information is needed, you may be contacted using the email address or phone number you provide.

The Broward County Public Schools Records team works hard to quickly process your transcript requests while keeping your records safe and accurate. Please wait 4-5 business days before checking on your transcript. Costs may change depending on the type of transcript or extra documents you ask for (see the order form for details).

Note: We only accept debit or credit card payments — no cash, checks, or money orders. Also, transcript requests must be made online; we cannot accept paper requests. Sorry for any inconvenience!

Delays may occur during holidays, spring break, or summer due to high volume. 

You can request your transcript by submitting a transcript request form from the online request portal.

The standard turn-around time is seven days. During peak months, it may be longer than 5 days. Peak times include new school registration periods and during the summer.

Unfortunately, we do not accept walk-in.

Yes, we offer secure electronic transcripts sent via email to an employer or an institution. (We do not send transcripts to personal email addresses).

You can request international delivery; however, it may take longer and could incur additional shipping fees.

Yes, for a parent to request a transcript on behalf of their child, the student must be a minor, and the parent is required to provide valid proof of guardianship along with a valid government-issued photo ID.

For students who are 18 years of age or older, the parent must present a written authorization form signed by the student, accompanied by the student’s valid government-issued photo ID, in order to obtain the transcript.
