🏫 Step Back in Time at the Old Davie School Historical Museum
Bring history to life using Supplemental Arts and Sciences Program Funding!
Travel back over 100 years and experience what life was like for Florida’s pioneer families with the Step Back in Time interactive field trip at the Old Davie School Historical Museum—home of the first school in the Everglades, built in 1918!
🚸 A Hands-On Historical Adventure
During this 2-hour field trip, students explore pioneer life through hands-on activities and immersive experiences across the historic campus and museum exhibits.
Become a 1918 Student
Sit in an original classroom, write with dip ink pens, and feel what it was like on the first day of school a century ago.
Explore Pioneer Life
Visit the 1909 Pioneer Home, tour the historic village, pump water from a well, wash laundry on a washboard, or meet friendly farm animals!
Get Your Hands Dirty
Depending on the day, students may churn butter, make fresh orange juice, or experience other pioneer chores.
Stay for Lunch!
Picnic tables are available for students to enjoy lunch after the program.
Program Time: 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Group Size: Minimum 15 | Maximum 100 students
