EXCITING NEWS!

Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) is pleased to announce that the School Choice Open Enrollment window for the 2026/27 school year will be open: November 3 – January 28, 2026.

To support families who may be impacted by the Redefining process, the application window has been extended to January 28, 2026, in order to provide additional time to make informed decisions.

2026/27 SCHOOL CHOICE APPLICATIONS - SPECIAL NOTE FOR MIDDLE/HIGH MAGNET PROGRAMS WITH ACADEMIC CRITERIA:

Applicants who completed their 2024/25 FAST PM3 assessment while they were enrolled in Broward County Public Schools or a Broward County charter school are not required to upload test scores, if the information is visible in the parent portal. If the applicant is a current BCPS or Broward County charter school student, your most recent report card should be available for review by District staff. If you are able to view the required information in the parent portal, there is no need to upload the information to the application.

School Choice (BCPS School Board Policy 6400) provides parents/guardians the option to request a different school other than the assigned school based on the child's home address.

Interested in participating in the Broward County Public Schools school choice process?

If you're interested in applying to any of our school choice options, a BCPS student number is required before you can complete a School Choice application via the Focus Parent Portal.

Visit any BCPS school, with your government-issued ID and your child's birth certificate to request a student number. No registration required.
