Elementary School Counseling

In Broward County Public Schools, elementary school counselors are here to help students grow, learn, and thrive—both in and out of the classroom. From kindergarten through fifth grade, counselors support students’ academic progress, emotional well-being, and social development.

They lead fun, meaningful classroom lessons on friendship, emotions, problem-solving, and kindness. They also meet with students one-on-one or in small groups to help with things like making friends, handling big feelings, or going through family changes. When needed, they provide support during tough times and help families connect with free counseling services through the district.

The goal is simple: to make sure every child feels supported, confident, and ready to succeed.
