Our Schools

Secondary Mathematics

In our middle and high schools, the Secondary Mathematics program is designed to help every student build a strong foundation in math and the confidence to apply it in real life. Through engaging lessons and hands-on problem-solving, students learn to ask questions, explain their thinking, and explore different ways to approach a challenge. We believe that every student can be successful in math with the right support, encouragement, and opportunities. Whether they are preparing for advanced courses or building essential life skills, we are committed to helping all students become strong, capable problem-solvers.

Middle Grades Mathematics

In Broward County, our math classrooms are vibrant, engaging spaces where students actively participate in learning. We use a curriculum that supports all types of learners, offering multiple ways to approach problems and ensuring every child has access to success.

Our teachers encourage students to talk about math, share ideas, explain their thinking, and ask thoughtful questions. This helps them build a deep understanding of math, not just memorize facts.

Our goal is to help every student develop the ability to think flexibly, solve challenging problems with confidence, and be ready for the future, whether that means college, a career, or everyday life.

FLDOE PARENT GUIDE FOR MATHEMATICS

The B.E.S.T. Parent Guides for Mathematics assist families in understanding the mathematical concepts being learned and how they can support their students’ progress at home. The guides include key mathematical concepts and skills students will learn each school year, academic terms, practical activities to build mathematical understanding at home and questions families can ask teachers to support their child’s success. Each guide is aligned to Florida’s B.E.S.T. Standards for Mathematics. Please note that the instructional guides will continue to undergo edits as necessary.
