Home School Education

Home school education is a parent-directed non-public school option that meets compulsory attendance requirements. By enrolling in home school education, the parent is assuming all educational responsibilities that a school would normally provide regardless of the mechanism used to educate their child. The Home Education office does not provide books, curricula, materials, ESE services, laptops, credits/transcripts, certificates, or diplomas.

District offices in Florida are not permitted to issue high school diplomas to home-schooled students. Only schools in Florida may issue students a high school diploma.

NOTE: Personalized Education Plan (PEP) students are NOT permitted to be enrolled with the district home school education office, per the Florida Department of Education. Therefore, do not send in a Notice of Intent if your child is a PEP scholarship recipient.
