Student Transportation & Fleet Services

Broward District Schools operates more than 1,000 buses daily, transporting over 50,000 students to 234 locations and traveling more than 16 million miles while coordinating transportation updates with schools and families.

Broward School Board Policy 6600 formerly 5300 allows for a student otherwise eligible for transportation, to ride if there is a seat available on route(s) that serves the school. After the first fifteen (15) school days of each school year students not otherwise eligible for school bus transportation may apply for school bus transportation when empty seats are available on an existing route (“Empty Seat Program”). Parents of students who have been assigned” empty seats” are responsible for their child’s arrival at the assigned bus stop.
