School Impact Fees

We accept electronic payments only:

• Credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express)
• Debit cards
• ACH bank transfers

No cash or checks are accepted.

Payments must be made through The School Board of Broward County (SBBC) electronic payment portal once you receive your invoice notification from the Treasurer’s Office.
A secure payment link will be provided by email.

No. The Treasurer’s Office does not accept in-person payments.
All payments must be completed online using the official payment link.

No walk-ins.

No. Partial payments are not accepted.
The system only processes full payments for the total amount shown on your invoice.

Upon successful payment, the system automatically generates a payment receipt and emails it to the developer and to Broward County Development & Environmental Review (DER) as proof of payment.
No receipt is generated for incomplete or failed payments.

Yes, another party may submit payment using your official payment link.
However, the receipt will still display the developer name and project information listed on the invoice.

You can request a duplicate copy by emailing Treasury@browardschools.com and including:

• Developer Name
• Project Name
• Project ID or App Folio ID
• Payment Date

Once payment is completed, the Treasury system automatically transmits payment confirmation and the payment receipt to Broward County Development & Environmental Review (DER).

Refunds are governed by Section 5-184(b)(2) of the Broward County Land Development Code:

• Impact fees paid before October 1, 2024 are not refundable unless the building permit application has expired or been withdrawn.

• Refunds may be issued if the final development intensity is reduced compared with the original approval used to calculate fees.

• Refunds are not granted if the funds have already been expended in reliance on the approved development.

• If a qualifying situation occurs, the refund process will be initiated by the School Board after verification from FPRE and/or Capital Budget.

Yes. The payment processor applies transaction-related service fees for handling electronic payments.
These fees are not collected or retained by the School Board and have no connection to SBBC operations or revenue.
Typical fees include:

• Credit/debit card: percentage-based service fee

• ACH transfer: small flat-rate fee

All fees are displayed clearly before payment submission.
