Central Regional Office

The Central Region Office manages and supports 67 schools (31 elementary, 10 middle, 7 high, 3 combination, 4 center and 12 non traditional) in central Broward County. The Central Region Office is committed to ensuring that all students have access to equitable and meaningful educational experiences within a nurturing environment that prepares them for the challenges of the 21st century.

The Central Regional Office supports schools by helping coordinate District resources, services and expertise based on each school’s needs. Through the Regional Support Hub model, schools receive more coordinated support through a unified team approach. This means principals and school teams are not expected to navigate multiple District departments independently. Instead, the Regional Office helps connect schools with the appropriate support in areas such as academics, student services, Exceptional Student Education, operations, leadership support, professional learning and other District services.

Dr. Ducarmel Augustin leads the Boyd Anderson, Dillard, and Piper Innovation Zones, supporting 16 elementary schools with a strong focus on academic excellence, innovation, and community engagement across central and northwest Broward.

Dr. Leo Nesmith leads the Plantation and South Plantation Innovation Zones, overseeing 7 middle schools, multiple specialized centers, and workforce schools including Atlantic, McFatter, Sheridan, and more—advancing academic and career success.
