Algebra Nation
In 2012, Study Edge joined forces with the University of Florida to dramatically improve student achievement in Algebra 1—a required course that is a key “gateway” to higher-level math courses and high-growth careers. At that time, just 50% of Florida high school students were proficient in algebra. In high needs schools, proficiency rates were often under 20%.
Study Edge and UF launched Algebra Nation in 2013 with two key goals: significantly improve algebra achievement in Florida, and reduce disparities in student performance. Since then, statewide pass rates have improved 9% and our materials have driven achievement for students in demographics that traditionally struggle in algebra.
Due to the popularity of Algebra Nation, we added resources for other key math classes and evolved to become Math Nation. Today, we provide dynamic content videos, workbooks, an online practice tool, and teacher-built lesson plans and other materials for Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2. Students in these courses can also log-on to our interactive Math Walls to receive homework help and support from our Study Experts and peers who volunteer their time answering questions and directing other students to helpful videos.
Thanks to generous funding from the Florida legislature, students and educators can access our Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2 resources at no cost. And they have: Since our launch, students, teachers, and parents have logged in more than 8.4 million times!
Math Nation is a result of ongoing collaboration among teachers, professors, administrators, parents, and students. Thanks to the input they provide, we are constantly adapting and improving our resources. Please let us know if you have any suggestions or ideas to share. We want to hear from you!

Equation Editor
Hello! The purpose of this tutorial is to explain how to use the Equation Response Editor tool, and to let you practice using it. You will be using this tool to enter answers that are numbers, expressions, or equations.
Before we get started, there are a couple of important things to remember:
1. The tool is not a calculator—it will not perform calculations for you. The tool is designed to allow you to enter your answer to a question.
2. You can enter your answer using your keyboard, the on-screen keypad, or a combination of both. As you practice, you may want to decide which method is most comfortable for you, and focus on creating your answers that way.
The following screens show you how to create common mathematical objects, and then let you practice creating those objects yourself. When you have finished entering an object, you can click the “Score” button at the bottom to see how you did. If you created the object correctly, try moving on to the next one. If not, try again.
If you are in elementary school, try to complete all the screens through “Practice 1.” If you are in middle school or high school, you should try to complete all the screens through “Practice 2.” If you are in middle school, however, you probably will not need to use trigonometric functions.
You can use the “Next” button to go on to the next screen, or the “Back” button to go back to the previous screen. If you want to skip to a particular screen, you can select it from the drop-down menu.
Ready to start? Let’s go!

FSA Practice
The purpose of the practice tests is for students to become familiar with the CBT system, functionality, and item types; the practice tests are not intended to guide classroom instruction. Descriptions and response instructions for each item type are included in the Practice Tests Quick Guide. Users should refer to the tutorials on each item or the guide to familiarize themselves with the different features and response instructions for each item type.
Computer-based practice tests are designed for use with the Secure Browser or a supported web browser. The supported web browsers for the practice tests are Firefox 45, 46, Chrome 51–56, Safari 6–9, or Internet Explorer 11. Use of an updated browser (i.e., a newer version of the listed browsers) may result in some features of the practice tests not functioning correctly. Browsers not listed here (e.g., Opera, Edge) will not work with the practice tests.
