About The Media Specialist

The Media Specialist at Westchester Elementary is Mary Ann Nixon. Ms. Nixon
has been at Westchester for 19 years. Some of her favorite books when she was an elementary school student were Georgie by Robert Bright, by Dare Wright  and Little Women by Louisa May Alcott. She
enjoys sharing these and many other books with her students.

Objectives of the Media Center

The objectives of the Westchester media classes are to foster a love of
reading and books, and to help students develop information literacy skills
so they will understand how to access and use information to become life
long learners.
