• Exceptional Student Education

    At Beachside Montessori, we provide a variety of programs to meet students’ various needs, including but limited to specialized instruction for those with disabilities; push-in and pull-out services for various exceptionalities; speech, language, occupational and physical therapies. At Beachside Montessori, we want each child to participate and learn to his/her fullest extent possible by providing services that support effective learning opportunities for all exceptional children.

     ACTION:  Print out the attached Broward ESE Advisory Council’s two page flyer containing the monthly public meeting dates and locations for the ESE Advisory, Autism Committee of ESE Advisory Council (ACE), Down Syndrome Committee, Emotional/Behavioral Disabilities Committee, and Dyslexia/Specific Learning Disabilities Committee; and send home with students within the first week of school (08/14/19 – 08/21/19).
    RATIONALE: Broward ESE Advisory Council is a parent-driven volunteer group established under Broward County Public Schools policy to provide recommendations to the School Board and Superintendent on systemic issues relating to ESE. The board comprises parents of students with disabilities, elected by parents of students with disabilities. The general meetings, which are open to everyone, provide a forum for discussion, advice, guest speakers and presentations on topics of interest.

    Parent Requested Evaluations

     If you suspect your child may be a student with a disability and would like more information on how to request a comprehensive evaluation of your child, the link here will take you to a short parent training outlining the process by which parents can make evaluation requests.

    To Request a Evaluation Contact: Mrs. Dolan, ESE Specialist. Informal requests between parents and teachers made during a a parent-teacher conference, or phone call does not constitute a formal request for evaluation.     

    Exceptional Student Education

    The Bureau of Exceptional Education and Student Services administers programs for students with disabilities. Additionally, the bureau coordinates student services throughout the state and participates in multiple inter-agency efforts designed to strengthen the quality and variety of services available to students with special needs.
