    Our School Dress Code

    Flamingo Elementary School Uniform Policy

    All students are expected to wear the designated uniform every day at school unless the school has declared a special circumstance. Parents who do not want a child to wear a school uniform must submit a waiver application and meet with an administrator within the first ten (ten) day of enrolling the student in school.

    In accordance with school board policy, student who are not in uniform will be deemed in violation of School board dress code and will be subject to the following disciplinary action:

    First Offense:             Speak to student and have student write a note in the planner to the parent.

    Second Offense:        Call home and speak to the parent to find out why the child is not in uniform. Provide a copy of the Uniform Policy Letter for parent to sign and return to school the next day.

    Third Offense:           Refer to guidance. Guidance will conference with parent to identify the barriers and resolve the situation.

    Future Offense:          Teacher will write a referral following the discipline matrix.

    Flamingo Elementary has a mandatory school uniform policy. Students wear a uniform that consists of the following: red, white, black, blue (royal or light) polo shirt. The bottoms can be solid-colored pants, shorts, cargo pants/short, skirts, skorts (mid-thigh) in black, navy blue, or khaki. No denim fabric is part of the uniform. No jeans, basketball shorts, or leggings.

    This letter is to inform you that your child has violated the mandatory school uniform policy. If this continues to be a problem, disciplinary action will be taken. Thank you for your support of our uniform policy. Your signature acknowledges that you have read and understood the policy in place at Flamingo Elementary.

    All children should start wearing their school uniform on the very first day of school this August.  Please call us at school if you have any questions or concerns.

    A Parent or Guardian may request by mail, or in person, an application for an exemption from the uniform program.  Exemption waivers must be completed by the 10th day of the student's enrollment.
