    Summer feeding program

    FREE MEALS FOR ALL CHILDREN

    Broward County Public Schools Food and Nutrition Services now offers FREE Grab-and-Go meals for all children 18 years and younger at all Elementary, Middle, and High schools! The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) recently announced it would extend the summer meals flexibility waiver, which allows BCPSFNS to provide lunch at no cost to all children through December 31, 2020. Meals bundles will be served on

    TUESDAYS AND THURSDAYS FROM 11 AM TO 1 PM AND 3 PM TO 5 PM.

    Children or their parents will be able to pick up multiple meals at a time by walking or driving to the car or bus loop. Parents must have identification for their child to pick up meals if the child is not present. The recommended forms of identification include student ID, report card, or birth certificate. Identification must be presented at each meal service. Adults are welcome to purchase meals for $1.80 per breakfast, and $2.75 per lunch.

    Grab and Go Meals

    The Meal Distribution expansion to the afternoon session allows parents the additional opportunity to pick up meals, providing continued support services for our students while practicing 100 percent e-Learning.
     
    Families are strongly encourage to apply for Meal Benefits at www.myschoolbucks.com.
     
    Students enrolled in a Broward County Public Schools will have the opportunity to pick up several days’ meals each distribution day.  Although students can pick up meals at any school, the Food and Nutrition Services department strongly recommends that students pick up meals at their home school for ease of the meal distribution line flow.
     
    "Grab and Go" Meals will be distributed in the student drop off loop; walk up meal distribution is also available.  As each car pulls forward, the student is required to state his or her name, and the name will be recorded as receiving meals.  A United States Department of Agriculture Parent Waiver allows for parents to pick up meals for students not present in the car.  Parents will need to present student identification; student school identification badge, report card, birth certificate, or passport to receive their children's meals.  Identification must be presented at each Meal Distribution.

    No student identification is required if the student is in the car.
     

    Charge Policy 

    Elementary students sometimes forget their lunch money or lose it. As a courtesy to these young students, Food and Nutrition Services allows a child to charge one lunch. After that, the child is given a replacement meal. Typically the replacement meal consists of a cheese or jelly sandwich and a cup of fruit or milk.

    Free and Reduced Price Meal Applications Parents are to complete a free and reduced price meal application on line at www.myschoolapps.com. Parents may contact the Food and Nutrition Services District Office Meal Benefits at 754-321-0250 for additional assistance with meal applications. Parents must complete a new free and reduced price meal family application each year. Children may be fed according to the previous year’s eligibility for the first 30 days of school while the new application is being processed. If a parent has not submitted a new application by September 26, 2019, the child reverts to full pay status. Click here to access the Food and Nutrition Services Website for additional information
