• PBHS School Counseling Team FAQs

Boy do we miss our students!

School Counseling is working to provide you with up-to-date information on Canvas and the PBHS website, under the Guidance tab.  In the meantime, please see below for a few FAQs.

    1. Can I still turn in Service Hours and how do I do that?

Yes, you may submit service hours to Ms. Roberson at: laurie.roberson@browardschools.com.  Forms can be found on our website under Guidance – Community Service tab or by clicking: https://www.browardschools.com/domain/11060 (which will take you to an external link).

     2. I am a senior. Do I still need to earn 40 Service Hours for graduation?

The District is waiving the 40-hour requirement for graduation.  However, you still need to earn 75 to 100 hours for the Florida Bright Futures Scholarship, the Silver Cord and any other scholarship requirement outside of the minimum diploma requirements.

     3. I am a junior. How do I turn in my Senior Privilege Form from course selection?

Scan and email your Senior Privilege form to Mrs. Morton at: lisa.morton@browardschools.com.  If you need a new form, we will be placing it under the Guidance tab, in a new Course Selection option from the drop down menu called, “Course Selection.”

     4. How do I turn in my TA form if I have it listed as one of my 7 choices for Course Selection?

Scan and email the TA form for PBHS or PBES to Mrs. Garsh at: allison.garsh@browardschools.com.  If you need a new form, we will be placing it under the Guidance tab, in a new Course Selection option from the drop down menu called, “Course Selection.”

    5. I talked with my counselor about a course override. How do I submit that now?

Scan and email the form to your counselor.  Your counselor will be able to make the change in Virtual Counselor for you.  See the “School Counseling Office Hours” information posted on Canvas for contact details.  If you need a new form, we will be placing it under the Guidance tab, in a new Course Selection option from the drop down menu called, “Course Selection.”

    6. I was recommended for a PBHS Dual Enrollment English and/or Math class for next year. How do I complete the registration process for that?

See the “New Dual Enrollment Procedure for Fall Term 2020” information posted on Canvas and contact your School Counselor.

    7. How do I send my transcript to a college, university or scholarship organization?

You can request your transcript be sent to colleges and universities through your Naviance account.  If you need your transcript for any other purposes, contact Mrs. Garsh, Registrar, at: allison.garsh@browardschools.com.  It is also a good idea to contact your School Counselor if you need assistance.

    8. How do I make an appointment with my School Counselor?

Contact your School Counselor by email.  See the “School Counseling Office Hours” information posted on Canvas for contact details.

    9. How do I make an appointment with Mrs. Fulcher, Family Counselor?
