• Friday, October 9, 2020

Good evening Spartan Families! This is Mr. Most and these are your Friday updates for October 9th, 2020.

We are preparing to reopen for face-to-face eLearning 2.0. Our SVE and PASS students had a great first day today and will be followed by our 9th graders on October 13th and our 10th to 12th graders on October 15th. All students returned to our 7:40-2:40 school hours today whether they are remaining at home or returning to school for eLearning 2.0. Please see our website for detailed information regarding the phased reopening of school.

If your child is returning to campus, please remember, they will need to ensure that they bring a laptop, charging cord, and ear buds or headphones to school every day. Additionally, your child will be required to wear a mask for the duration of their time on campus.

Please note, if you have not opted in for your student to return to school, they should not return to campus. The health and safety of all students and staff is our top priority and we have to make sure that we have planned appropriately for every student that has informed us they plan to return to school. Please call the office at 754-323-1050 if you would like to see if your child's classes still have space available to return to campus.

Parents, we want you to know we have implemented many new protocols on our campus related to COVID-19 to keep students and staff as safe as possible. We do ask for your patience as we work with some of our teachers who may have applied to continue with remote working assignments. In these cases, the teacher will continue to provide instruction via eLearning, while students are supervised by other staff members on campus.

Seniors and Juniors, please remember to always open your email from our BRACE advisor, Ms. Ramirez, in Naviance for College and Career information. We will have virtual visits this week from UM, Vanderbilt, FAU and Keiser Universities.

If you need technology assistance, or are unable to log on to class, please call the school. Please reach out to your teacher via Canvas or email if you are unable to log on to your Teams call.

Our districtwide evening academic assistance service is available Monday through Thursday from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Students will find a link in their Canvas courses to "Ask BRIA” (Broward Remote Instructional Assistance). By clicking on that link, they will be guided to a live Teams session with a certified teacher to receive academic support.

With the reopening of school, Free Grab-and-go meals are still available for pickup in the bus loop on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1pm to 2pm for all children 18 years and younger who are not participating in face to face learning. Be sure to fill out your Free and Reduced Lunch application. Visit myschoolapps.com

Thank you and have a great weekend!
