Welcome to the Norcrest Elementary Media Center! If you love books and technology, this is the perfect place for you. Our library has over 10,000 books on a range of topics and elementary reading levels. Whether you are interested in award winning fiction, informational non-fiction, famous children’s authors, or inspiring biographies, we have a book for you. We love reading, and our goal is to develop the joy of reading in each of our students.
While visiting our media center, students have the opportunity to work on their coding skills using our Dot and Dash robots. Students work in teams to solve coding challenges that increase in difficulty as their skills advance. We strive to build the 21st century skills that each of our students will need to be successful, such as critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication.
Our media center also has a computer lab that is used by classes to work on reading, math, vocabulary, coding, or special projects as assigned by their teachers. Though our main focus is the teaching and education of our students, our media center is also used for staff, PTA, and school community meetings and book fairs. Our media center is a wonderful space where all are welcome to learn and explore.
