HHE Student Council Class Representatives are chosen by their peers in their individual classrooms. Fifth Grade Students are given an opportunity to campaign for the Officer positions on the Student Council. Once an election is held and the Student Council President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer are chosen, fifth grade students then elect the class Student Council Representatives. Some of the community service projects the Student Council has participated in are: Food Drive for Thanksgiving, a school-wide Recycling Program, picture books for new mothers at Memorial Hospital, a school-wide clean up day to celebrate Earth Day, and the Honor Flight, in which Student Council raises money to send World War II and Vietnam War veterans to Washington DC to see the memorials in their honor. This year Student Council raised $1300.
