    Food and Nutrition Services offer variety and well-balanced nutritious meals at a low cost. School lunches provide an assortment of foods including daily meal salads and fresh fruit. School meals are healthy, meeting the Dietary Guidelines for Americans. By choosing lunch at school, students learn to make healthy choices, reinforcing nutrition education taught in the classroom.  Delicious breakfasts are served daily in all Broward County Public schools.

    Note: Parents please be advised students will NOT be given change when paying for their lunch by cash. The change will be placed in the student's lunch account.

  • Summer Meal Program

    The Food and Nutrition Services Department will transition to fifty-one (51) Curbside “Grab and Go” Meal Distribution Sites beginning June 15. Meal pick up will be available on Tuesdays only. Curbside “Grab and Go” Meal Distribution times are scheduled at each location. Review the attached spreadsheet for each location’s Grab-and-Go Meal Distribution Service times; service times are highlighted in yellow. Any service time changes should be e-mailed to Roxana Orozco. Children will receive seven (7) days of “Meal Bundles” on Tuesdays, the Curbside “Grab and Go” distribution day. All Curbside “Grab and Go” Distribution protocols will remain the same.  Select the Distribution Site Location for pickup information.

  • Breakfast and Lunch

    The Most Important Meal of the Day

    Breakfast

    Breakfast is served from 8:50 am am until 9:10 am. Students who are walkers or car riders must be in the cafeteria before 9:00 am, if they are eating breakfast.

    Lunch

    Students at Forest Glen can either bring their own lunch or purchase lunch from the cafeteria for $2.35 and when purchased alone, milk is $0.50. If a child forgets lunch, the cafeteria staff will provide a sandwich and carton of milk at no charge. Each lunch period lasts thirty minutes. Students must sit with their homeroom class and remain seated until dismissed by an administrator. Teachers escort classes to and from the cafeteria. No one is allowed to leave the cafeteria before the lunch period is over.

    Florida Senate Bill 1908 requires that all schools post a copy of the most recent kitchen sanitation inspection report on our school website. Schools receive at least two Kitchen Sanitation Inspections per year. The rating scale is Satisfactory, Incomplete and Unsatisfactory. The inspection covers food supplies, food protection, personnel, equipment, utensils, sanitary facilities, and controls, etc.
