National Honor Society

  • New River's National Junior Honor Society

New River’s NJHS is one of the nation’s premier organizations that recognize outstanding middle school students who demonstrate excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, character and citizenship.  Students get involved in community service projects such as beach cleanups, food drives, walk-a-thons for cancer or tree plantings for environmental improvements.  To become a member, students must maintain a 3.5 grade point average and complete 30 hours of community service before May 1 in order to participate in an induction ceremony.  The organization is open to 7th and 8th graders who plan to meet the criteria. Sixth graders are invited to attend the meetings after first term.
