Mrs. Pamela Van Horn, B.S.Ed., M.Ed.

I am so blessed and pleased to be serving my fourteenth year at Plantation Middle School’s International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program. This school is a family of caring, unique, and wonderful individuals. I count myself blessed each day I can walk into this building to work with the students, staff, and parents. While at Plantation Middle, I have taught all core subjects, in all grades, for all levels, from Special Education to Gifted. This is my third full year as the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program (IB, MYP) Magnet Coordinator as well as the International Business, Entrepreneurial, Language, and Leadership Academy (IBELLA) Coordinator. I have implemented several IB policies such as community service requirements, honesty policy, and Learner Profile focus traits for each month, just to name a few. In less than one year as Magnet Coordinator, Plantation Middle School has been named a National Magnet School of Distinction by Magnet Schools of America, the national association for magnet and theme-based schools during their 35th National Conference on Magnet Schools in Los Angeles, California in April 2017. This nationally recognized award is the second highest award of recognition and was given to only one IB School and five magnet middle schools in all of Broward County.

This year I am pleased to announce that we have been named a National Magnet School of Distinction again and were honored at the 36th National Conference on Magnet Schools in Chicago in April 2018. Plantation Middle was again the only IB school that received this nationally recognized award in Broward County.

I have five talented and successful adult children and four adorable grandbabies. “Family Forever and Always” is my mantra at home with my wonderful husband Ronnie and beautiful collie, Juice. I have a passion for travel and adventure.

I strive daily to build positive relationships with students, parents and community members. I welcome any feedback you might offer. Please call or email at any time with suggestions or concerns.
