The School Counseling Department at McArthur High School provides guidance to every student in three domains: academic, personal/social, and career/college.
Our goal is to help all students achieve their fullest potential while having a positive experience throughout their high school careers.
Our school counselors are available everyday to students and parents. Parents please call or come in to Guidance to make an appointment to see your child's counselor.
The counselors regularly visit classrooms and assist in scheduling of classes in addition to scheduling and hosting parent/teacher conferences.
Parents, if you would like to schedule a parent/teacher conference with all or part of your child's team of teachers, please contact your school counselor.
All counselors may be reached by calling (754) 323-1200.

School Social Workers
School Social Work is a specialized service for helping families and students experiencing social, emotional, learning and behavioral difficulties in the school setting. These difficulties may be presented as poor academic achievement, lack of motivation, difficulty remaining focused on tasks and truancy.
School social workers monitor student attendance and truancy cases, provide counseling to students and parents, serve as a liaison between school, family and community, serve as a source of information regarding community resources, and make referrals to agencies as needed. At the high school level, Social Workers work closely with students to insure regular attendance and meet graduation requirements.
Referrals to the Social Worker can be made via teachers, staff, parents or students themselves. You can contact the Social Worker at McArthur, Sarah Lazarre, LCSW at 754-323-1228.
