WHO WE ARE
The Pembroke Pines Branch of the Broward County Libraries Division serves the Walter C. Young Resource Center as part of a unique, joint-use partnership between the Broward County School Board and the Broward County Board of County Commissioners. The helpful, professional staff is on hand to help students find library items, locate reference materials and resources, access free public-use computers and more. The Pembroke Pines Library/Walter C. Young Resource Center is open to the public and also serves as a media center for Walter. C. Young Middle School.
WHAT WE OFFER
The Pembroke Pines Library/Walter C. Young Resource Center provides the same free library services and resources available at any Broward County Library location including:
41 free public-use computers
- Free Wi-Fi access
- Over 80,00 books, CDs, DVDs and other materials
- Programs for adults, teens and children
- Meeting rooms
WHEN WE’RE OPEN
The Pembroke Pines Library/Walter C. Young Resource Center is open Mondays and Wednesdays from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m, and Saturdays from 10-6.
WHERE WE’RE LOCATED
The Library is located at 955 N.W. 129 Ave., Pembroke Pines, FL 33028 (954-357-6750). It is adjacent to the Walter C. Young Middle School campus. Students can easily and conveniently access the many services and resources available from Broward County Libraries Division without leaving campus! HOW TO GET A LIBRARY CARD
In order to check out materials from the Library or use its free computers, you must have a Broward County Library card. Broward County Library cards are FREE to all Walter C. Young Middle School students as well as all residents of Broward County. The card may be used at any Broward County Library location.
- To apply for a card:
- Complete an application form (available from the Library).
- Have your parent/guardian accompany you to turn the application form in. Forms may be turned in at the Library’s Reference Desk.
- Your parent or guardian’s presence, signature and photo ID are required to complete the application form.
You’ll get your new Broward County Library card within minutes! The Library staff will also provide information on the number of different items you can check out at one time, the length of lending times for different materials and how to request library items from other Broward County Library locations
WHY DO WE FOLLOW THE BROWARD COUNTY LIBRARY CODE OF CONDUCT?
Since the Pembroke Pines Library/Walter C. Young Resource Center also serves as a public library for the Broward County Libraries Division, all visitors must abide by the Broward County Library Customer Code of Conduct.
