Magnet Schools of Merit Awards
Magnet Schools of America established the Magnet Schools of Merit Award to recognize the top magnet schools in the United States. The Magnet Schools of Merit Award recognizes magnet schools that show commitment to high academic standards, curriculum innovation, successful desegregation/diversity efforts, and the consistent delivery of quality services to all stakeholders.
Stranahan High School magnet students attain the highest levels of academic preparation and achievement. We provide students with a more rigorous curricula; inclusive of Honors, Advanced Placement and Dual Enrollment courses, adequately preparing them for the academic and behavioral expectations of college.

Magnet Admissions Requirements
The Stranahan Magnet Program welcomes applications from students who are college bound and demonstrate a strong interest in the areas of Education, Medical Science or Science/Pre-Engineering. Students must reside in Broward County. Applying students must have a strong academic background, evidenced by FCAT scores in reading and math at or above Level 3, with satisfactory attendance and conduct records. Students are required to maintain a 2.5 GPA and meet the minimum requirements of all courses.
