• Hello Parents and Athletes,

I know there must be questions, and rumors, regarding what is happening to Fall sports – and all sports.

First, there has never been a consideration, or conversation, in the County or with FHSAA to cancel the season. I’m sure you are by now aware that FHSAA voted to start the Fall season officially on Monday, 8/24/2020.

Unfortunately, the current status in most of South Florida, does not allow many counties to begin on 8/24.  We have been working closely with FHSAA, and BCAA,  in order to be able get the Fall sports seasons started.  This is an ongoing process, which is paying close attention, to the weekly percentages of positive Covid numbers, in order to be sure coaches, athletes, and officials will be safe.

There are ongoing meetings to see what the season will look like, and how we will proceed, once given permission by Broward County Schools to proceed.  At this time, there will be 3 Phases utilized in order to get back to competition safely. The county has been, and will continue, to evaluate conditions every two weeks in order to return to competition.

In the mean time, please register on “Athletic Clearance” in order to be allowed to join one of our teams. The list of documents which are needed, the instructions for registration, the instructions for filling out each page of the forms, and for uploading the documents are found on the Athletics page of the West Broward web site.  The forms need to be compatible to Adobe Acrobat – you may wish to download the app “Adobe Scan” as it will give you the ability to scan and upload multiple page documents as one file.

Please feel free to contact me for information, questions, or help.
