Ms. Marino - Literacy Coach

It was my pleasure to be part of the opening team at Heron Heights Elementary as the Literacy Coach. My position here is to assist with the organization of the entire literacy program. This includes analyzing the results of reading assessments to determine students’ needs and to follow up with teachers in developing the use of reading skills/strategies based on these results through conferencing and professional development.

I also assist teachers with identification of appropriate assessments, intervention and instruction of students with literacy deficiencies.

In my journey as a reading specialist, I have taught students of different age groups. I was also fortunate enough to be part of the opening team at Park Trails Elementary as a curriculum specialist. Delivering professional development and being part of curriculum writing teams on the district level has also provided many experiences that help me provide support to the staff of Heron Heights Elementary and implement district and state initiatives.
