Spelling and Vocabulary Homework is to be completed weekly and each teacher will give the assignment. Students need to practice their spelling words and vocabulary words throughout the week to be proficient for the test at the end of each week.
Reading Homework is given at the discretion of each teacher.
Math Homework is given daily and depends on the concepts taught in class that day. Students use either their Math Text Book or Worksheet distributed by teacher.
Science or Social Studies Homework will be given occasionally and is at the discretion of your child's teacher.
Expectations for 3rd Grade:
Reading- Students should be exposed to fiction, non-fiction, poetry, and articles of interest. Students should be able to answer questions related to the story or article beyond the usual who, what, where, and why questions. Students should be able to read fluently and with inflection in their voice.
Writing- Students should be able to write a complete sentence using punctuation and capitalization. They should be able to write a paragraph with a topic sentence, 2 detail sentences, and a concluding sentence.
Math- Students should be able to add and subtract 2 digit numbers with regrouping.
