For those of you who do not know me, allow me to tell you a little about myself. I am Nesrine Ghosn Hlayel. My family is originally from Beirut, Lebanon. I have lived in Lebanon, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Louisiana, and Texas. I call Baton Rouge, Louisiana home and am a huge LSU Tigers (GEAUX TIGERS!) and New Orleans Saints (Who Dat Nation) fan.
I earned my BA in Communication Disorders with a minor in Linguistics as well as my BA in Theatre from Louisiana State University in 1999. After completing my bachelor’s degrees, I went on to earn my Masters in Early Childhood Special Education from the University of Texas at Austin in 2000. In order to gain a stronger knowledge of curriculum, I returned to LSU in 2001 and earned my Masters in Special Education Curriculum and Instruction. I am also trained in Applied Behavior Analysis at Florida Tech University and earned my Behavior Analysis coursework certificate in 2010.
I am married to a wonderful man, Ihab, and have 2 beautiful children. I have a son, Tariq, and a daughter, Aiyanna who both attend Country Isles Elementary. I love spending time with my family, watching and playing a wide variety of sports, music, dance, and theatre. I love teaching and working with students on the Autism Spectrum. I believe that every child can learn and every child has something special and important to contribute to all of our lives.
My family and I just relocated to the area from Katy, Texas. We are looking forward to having a wonderful adventure in Florida.
