National Women & Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, March 10
March 10 is National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day. It is an observance to increase awareness of how HIV affects women and girls and how they can protect themselves. HIV remains a significant health risk, with more than 280,000 women living with HIV in the United States. In 2014, an estimated 8,328 women aged 13 and older were diagnosed with HIV. The majority of these diagnoses can be attributed to heterosexual sex. Go to the Centers for Disease Control to access more data.
