DECEMBER 2022 Newsletter

Greetings Parents, Guardians and Community Members,

As we enter the holiday season, our staff will be putting more focus on reviewing and practicing skills that students were taught in the first nine weeks. However, we still have a lot more information for your scholars to learn. Please help by allowing your child to sit in a quiet area and read uninterrupted for at least 30 minutes every day. In addition, all students have access to iReady and can practice reading online for at least 15 minutes every day at home.

Last month we shared the Out of Field Teachers Report and have included it again in this newsletter. We also sent home another copy of the Title I School-Parent Compact. Please review, sign, and return it with your child as soon as possible.

Our School Advisory Council (SAC) meets on Wednesday, December 21st , which is also our Title I Holiday & Magnet Showcase. All parents and the community are welcome to attend as we will share information about construction, tips for building reading and math skills at home, and PTA will host a Holiday Shop. We will have staff available to translate into Spanish, Creole and Portuguese.

As always, “Thank you” to our parents and community for supporting our academic mission where every child succeeds. During the upcoming break, please continue to encourage your child to read daily, eat healthily and get plenty of rest!

Shedrick Dukes, Ed.S. Principal
