BCPS Announces National Merit $2,500 Scholarship Winners
The National Merit Scholarship Corporation announced this year’s National Merit $2,500 Scholarship winners. Four Broward County Public Schools seniors were chosen out of more than 15,000 outstanding finalists in the 2023 National Merit Scholarship Program.
Congratulations to the following students named National Merit $2,500 Scholarship recipients:
Samantha Carozzi, Cooper City High School
Kaitlyn Drew, Pompano Beach High School
Sahana Thayagabalu, Cypress Bay High School
Jason Vadnos, Plantation High School
National Merit $2,500 Scholarship winners are the finalists in each state judged to have the strongest combination of accomplishments, skills and potential for success in rigorous college studies. Scholars may use their awards at any regionally accredited U.S. college or university.
Around 3,800 College-sponsored Merit Scholarship winners will be announced on July 7 and 10. By the conclusion of this year’s competition, more than 7,100 academic champions will have won National Merit Scholarships worth more than $28 million.
