WHO: Walker Elementary School Students and Former White House Photographer Amanda Lucidon
WHAT: Former White House Photographer Amanda Lucidon will visit with and teach students during a master class at Walker Elementary. During the visit, Lucidon will guide students in using the right camera lens to capture the best perspective and photo image. Students will also learn about different career pathways for a photographer, as Lucidon shares her experiences and role as a former White House photographer to former First Lady Michelle Obama.

WHY: Walker Elementary School is one of three District schools participating as a Turnaround Arts School for the past three years. Turnaround Arts, a national program of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, provides resources to schools to increase student achievement, student attendance, and parent and community involvement. Turnaround Arts artists offer support to teachers and students throughout the school year, as well as visit schools to give special learning opportunities for students.
