Broward County School Board Members and Interim Superintendent Honored by the Broward County AFL-CIO

On Saturday, September 11, 2021, Broward County School Board members and Interim Superintendent Dr. Vickie L. Cartwright were recognized by the Broward County AFL-CIO with its first ever Legislative Champions Award. The recognition took place during the organization’s annual Labor Ball and honored the efforts of the School Board and Interim Superintendent to uphold the School Board’s face covering policy as a mitigation strategy for preventing the spread of COVID-19 in our schools.
The Legislative Champions Award was presented on behalf of the 100,000 union members, retirees and families represented by the Broward County AFL-CIO. The virtual award ceremony included local elected officials, community members and representatives from the Broward County AFL-CIO.
