BCPS Announces Final 2022 National Merit Scholarship Winners

Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) announces additional College-sponsored National Merit Scholarship winners. Congratulations to three students named in the final group of 2022 National Merit Scholars.

    National Merit University of Florida Scholarship
    Western High School 
  • Lexi Schwartzberg
    National Merit University of Central Florida Scholarship
    Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School  

These distinguished high school graduates join more than 7,200 scholars who will receive scholarships for undergraduate study worth nearly $28 million. In addition to college-sponsored awards, two other types of National Merit Scholarships were offered – National Merit $2,500 Scholarships, in which all finalists competed, and about 1,000 corporate-sponsored Merit Scholarship awards for finalists who met criteria specified by their grantor organizations.  

In all, 21 BCPS scholars were awarded 2022 National Merit Scholarships. In three spring releases, the National Merit Scholarship Corporation announced winners of corporate-sponsored Merit Scholarship awards, National Merit $2,500 Scholarship awards, and the first group of college-sponsored Merit Scholarship awards. 

The National Merit Scholarship Program honors individual students who show exceptional academic ability and potential for success in rigorous college studies.
