SPE 2023-2024 Aftercare Information

Before and After-School Child Care Program

Silver Palms Elementary is proud to offer a high quality, fee-based before and after-school child-care program for the students who attend our school. On behalf of our aftercare team, we are very excited for our upcoming school year.

Our philosophy is to provide all students with an academic/fitness-based program, in a safe and nurturing environment and to teach students appropriate social skills, including conflict resolution and acceptable peer interaction.

We provide students with snack time, a structured homework hour, drama class, technology, S (science) T (technology) E (engineering) M (math) center, Spanish class, arts and crafts, and outdoor play.

Currently, all our experienced counselors are attending college and have been trained in Anti-bullying, CPR/First Aid, behavior management and conflict resolution, assorted group activities and emergency situations. All staff has received a thorough FBI background clearance through Broward County Public Schools.

Registration Information:

Registration will take place online. However, in the case the website is not working please call
(754)-323-7465 or you can come in person to register your child at Silver Palms between the times 8:00am-4:00pm. (In person is optional)

Dates and Times are as follows:
▪ Tuesday, August 15th 8:00 am – 4:00 pm (Returning Parents)
▪ Wednesday, August 16th 8:00 am – 4:00 pm (New to aftercare)

To register for aftercare please visit Once you are there, click on the “Registration for Before and After School Child Care Click Here “ link and begin your registration. In order to register your child, have their student number ready. Please read all instructions and follow all directions. It is important to know that the application does not guarantee enrollment in our program.

After completing the application, the supervisor will reach out via email to confirm your child’s spot. Once a student gets accepted, the parent has 24 hours to make the first payment. If payment is not made within the 24 hours, you may lose the spot in our program. You may not register your child before the dates listed above.

Returning aftercare parents have priority during registration on the first day only (August 15th). Returning parents must RE-REGISTER their child in order to attend the program. On August 16th registration opens to all returning and incoming parents. If you cannot make the above registration dates, you can have a relative or friend fill out the online registration for you. Only students who have been registered and approved by August 16th will be able to start the program on the first day of school.

You will need your child’s Broward County Public Schools student identification number in order to register. You will be required to provide us with a “password” that will be used only in the event of dismissal emergencies. We also ask that you make arrangements with a friend or relative who can pick up your child should you be later than 6:00 pm. The late pick-up fee is strictly enforced. The registration and first payment must be paid in order to complete the registration process. We accept Visa, MasterCard and American Express. Checks, Money Orders or cash are NOT accepted. Program Information

Our program abides by Broward County Public Schools Code of Conduct. We follow the same rules pertaining to cell phones, medication dispensing, bullying and behavior conduct. Our students are expected to behave in the same manner they would in the classroom and to treat their counselor and peers with kindness and respect.

If your child has Special Needs (an IEP, a 504 plan, or medical issues), please let us know before you register. We are required to have a meeting to make sure our program can meet their needs.

Payment information:

The non-refundable registration fee ($30.00 per child) will be collected for the 2023-2024 school year. The activity fee is $15.00, which pays for the student’s snack and early release activities.

As of this school year, there will be 10 payment periods. Payments will be collected every 18 school days. Our current prices are $214 per pay period for aftercare full fee and the before-care fee is $53.00 per pay period. However, payments will be changing for the new school year. If a parent/guardian forgets to make a payment, they will be charged an additional $30.00 re-registration fee PER CHILD. (Late fee)
