BCPS Students with Best Attendance Honored During Evening Among the Stars

WHO:
Broward County School Board Members; Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) Administrators; Teachers and Staff; Students; and Families 

WHAT:
The 2024 Evening Among the Stars celebration recognizes more than 100 BCPS students who have achieved the best cumulative attendance throughout elementary school, middle school and high school.

  • Elementary school: 5th grade students are recognized for best attendance from kindergarten through 5th grade.
  • Middle school: 8th grade students are recognized for best attendance from grades 6 through 8.
  • High school: 12th grade students are recognized for best attendance from grades 9 through 12.
  • Best in Class – Recognizes high school seniors with the best attendance from kindergarten through 12th grade. This year, four BCPS seniors are being recognized with the Best-In-Class award.

WHY:
School attendance is a critical factor in student achievement. The annual Evening Among the Stars honors students, as well as their parents, guardians and caregivers, for having the highest level of commitment to being in school.
