WHY:               
Dr. Howard Hepburn will be ceremoniously sworn into office as the new superintendent of BCPS by Broward County Judge (Retired) Zebedee Wright. Judge Wright is the husband of the late Kathleen C. Wright, the first Black countywide elected Broward County School Board member.
 
The School Board of Broward County, Florida unanimously approved the employment agreement with Dr. Hepburn on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. Dr. Hepburn now leads the sixth-largest school system in the nation and the second largest in Florida.
