Principal Welcome Letter

Dear Parents/Guardians:

On behalf of the staff at Village Elementary, I am happy to extend a warm and heartfelt welcome to a dynamic new school year! We enter the 2019-2020 school year committed to the concept of teamwork to make a difference in the lives of our scholars.  YOU are also a part of that team and our strong partnership with you extremely important.  Your guidance and support of your child’s education will go a long way to help make our scholars lifelong learners.

We are asking your commitment to partner with us as we raise the bar and set high expectations for all our scholars to reach beyond to greater achievement.  We are also excited to revitalize and expand our “House System” which will support our Positive Behavior Intervention System by creating a positive atmosphere while working to establish the climate for increase scholar achievement. Look for details coming soon and listen as your child comes home talking about our “House Meetings”!!

Please consider joining our school volunteer program and our PTA as our students can greatly benefit from your involvement and contributions to the school’s programs and its operations.  We seek volunteers to help us with the following activities:

1) Reading with children who need extra help

2) Working on “pre-reading” skills with scholars (letters, sounds, sight words, etc.)

3) Assistance at school-wide events (Field Days, Field TripsSchool Advisory Council, Panther Den student store, PTA activities, etc.)

Don’t forget that this year, we have partnered with Office Depot who will be conducting a Start Proud Back to School Giveaway assembly for our ALL our scholars (PK-5) by providing them with a backpack filled with school supplies! We are excited about this partnership!

Again, we welcome you to a new school year and to Village Elementary—a place alive with much energy, much enthusiasm, and a high standard of excellence!  The wonderful Village staff and I feel privileged to be a part of your child’s educational experience.

Educationally,

Wanda E. Haynes, Principal
