School Supplies: Suggested supply lists by grade can be found on our website.  We are also offering prepackaged supply boxes through A+ School Supplies.  The deadline to order is July 19^th.  Your child’s supplies will be delivered directly to their classroom.  All information regarding supplies can be found at https://www.browardschools.com/Page/40248.

School Hours: VSY Student hours are 9:30am-3:30pm. However, students are asked to be in their classrooms, ready to learn by 9:20am. On early release days, school ends at 1:30pm. The doors of the school open at 8:50am and that is the earliest time students can be dropped off at school. 

Early Sign Out: The latest early pickup time is 3:00pm on regular school days and 1:00pm on early release days. Parents/Guardians will need to be physically present in the front office, with their valid photo ID, for us to call the student from their class to be picked up. We can only release students to listed parents, guardians, and emergency contact persons. Please be sure to keep your contact information and emergency contact forms up to date. 

Dismissal Changes: In order to change your child's dismissal method please send an email to vsyoffice@browardschools.com  by 2:45pm. Dismissal changes are not accepted by phone nor past the 2:45pm cut-off.

Reporting Absences: Absences should be reported within 48 hours either by telephone or online. To report an absence, you will need: student name, student number or birth date, grade, date of absence/s and reason for absence. To report an absence online, visit our website and select "Contact Us" and then "Report an Absence". To report an absence by phone, call our attendance hotline 754-322-9059, and leave a voicemail. If you report an absence via voicemail, please make sure you are speaking clearly, there is no background noise, and you state the reason for the absence. Refer to the BCPS Code of Conduct for a list of excused absences.  

We ❤️ Volunteers: If you would like to volunteer at VSY next year (and we really hope you do) be sure to complete the online application. The Volunteer Application can be found at apps.raptortech.com/Apply/NDgyMDplbi1VUw==.  The volunteer application must be completed each year.  You will not be permitted to volunteer on campus until your new application has been approved.

Bus Information: All VSY K-5^th grade students that live in Broward County, are at least 2 miles away, and are north of 595 are eligible for a bus through Broward County Schools Transportation. If you need transportation for your student, you will need to register through the transportation website. Student Transportation & Fleet Services / REGISTER 2 RIDE (browardschools.com).   

Breakfast/Lunch: Breakfast is available from 8:50am-9:30am to all our students, free of cost, in the school cafeteria. Each class is assigned a 30-minute lunch period in the cafeteria, also free of charge, studnets may also bring lunch from home. To add money to your student's cafeteria account for Ice Cream, you can use the myschoolbucks app or go to myschoolbucks.com or pay via check or cash in the cafeteria. 

BCPS App: The BCPS App is available for Android and iPhone users. Once you download and create your account, you will have access to grades (with capability of setting low grade alerts), attendance, bus information, lunch information, and more. Teacher Assignments: During the week of August 5^th, classroom teachers will call the home of all students to introduce themselves and welcome VSY students & families to the 2024-2025 school year. 

Meet & Greet:  On August 9^th at 1:00p.m., students and parents will have the opportunity to meet their teacher and see the classroom.  We encourage you to drop off supplies in the classroom at Meet & Greet.  For those families new to VSY Montessori, we will have an orientation in the cafeteria at 12:15. Parking will be limited, please carpool, or walk if you live in the neighborhood.
