Statement Regarding Ben Gamla Charter School South Broward – 5392
Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) staff discovered today, August 26, 2019, that asecond charter school has not met compliance with Florida Statute 1006.12 Safe School Officers (SSO).
Ben Gamla Charter School South Broward – 5392 staff informed the District it had no SSO on campus today, August 26, nor would the school have coverage for August 27 and August 28.
The BCPS Office of Safety, Security & Emergency Preparedness contacted the school to ascertain if the charter school had made arrangements for the continuation of its SSO plan upon the expiration of its Plantation Police Department detail officer contract this Friday, August 30, 2019.
Following multiple previous notifications of statutory requirements, an immediate termination item is planned for an Emergency Broward County School Board meeting on August 27, at 3:30 p.m., at the Kathleen C. Wright Administration Center, Board Room.
