Broward County School Board Approves Revision to 2019/20 School Year Calendar Designating February 14, 2020, as A Day of Service and Love
The Broward County School Board at its meeting this week unanimously approved a revision to the 2019/20 school year calendar to move the early release day scheduled for Thursday, February 20, 2020, to Friday, February 14, 2020.
The School Board voted in support of the request, which was presented by the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Commemoration Planning Committee and the Calendar Committee, and also included designating February 14 as A Day of Service and Love across Broward County Public Schools.
The Commemoration Planning Committee continues to work with stakeholder groups across the community in preparation for upcoming activities honoring all of those affected by the tragedy nearly two years ago on February 14, 2018.
Additional information regarding the two-year commemoration events will be shared in the weeks and months ahead as details are finalized.
