Congratulations to 43 BCPS Schools Named ‘Schools of Excellence’
by the Florida State Board of Education
Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) is excited to announce 43 schools have been designated as Schools of Excellence for the 2023/24 school year by the Florida State Board of Education. These schools earned this distinction by scoring in the 80th percentile or higher in their grade calculation compared to schools in the same grade group for at least two of the past three school years.
“We are incredibility proud of our Schools of Excellence, BCPS Superintendent Dr. Howard Hepburn said. “This prestigious recognition honors the hard work, talent and perseverance of our remarkable students, supported by our dedicated teachers and staff. We are inspired by their achievement and look forward to even greater success in the future.”
The Schools of Excellence program was established by the Florida Legislature in 2017 to recognize high-performing schools. Schools that initially qualify for the designation can retain it for up to three years, after which they may renew it. Benefits of the designation include increased autonomy, additional funding and priority in state funding.
