Information Update: BCPS Announces Changes to School Operations Due to Hurricane Ian
Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) continues working closely with local emergency management and safety officials to monitor Hurricane Ian and its potential impact to Broward County.
As the community prepares for the storm, Superintendent Dr. Vickie L. Cartwright has announced the following changes to school operations for this week:
Today, Tuesday, September 27
- After-school care is open. Parents/guardians are asked to pick up their students as soon as possible.
- All after-school activities, field trips, events and nighttime classes are canceled.
Wednesday, September 28, and Thursday, September 29
- Schools and District offices are closed.
- All before- and after-school activities, field trips, events and nighttime classes are canceled.

The District will keep students, staff and the community informed of any additional changes through its communication channels, which include the District’s website (browardschools.com), robocalls, mobile app notifications, social media (on Twitter @browardschools and Facebook facebook.com/browardschools) and through BECON-TV. The District will also provide updates through its Information Hotline, 754-321-0321.
