February/March Celebrations

LCMS Speech & Debate students participated in their 4th county tournament this month representing our school with PRIDE and EXCELLENCE. 37 students attended and ALL students ranked in the top 10 out of 600 participating students from Broward County and one of our students was a medal winner ranking #1 receiving a PERFECT score in both rounds of their event!

 

Three 6th grade students received the prestigious Patriot’s Pen Awards in first, second, and third place! Each year more than 125,000 students nation-wide in grades 6-8 enter the VFW’s Patriot’s Pen youth essay contest.

 

On February 5th, members of the LCMS National Junior Honor Society, led by Ms. Garcia, partnered with Gumbo Limbo Nature Center to serve our community and participated in a beach cleanup. Members accumulated over 40 pounds of trash!

 

District World Languages Competition- All LCMS students who participated in the District World Languages Competition placed! We recognized all of our award recipients, 8 1st place winners and 4 2nd Place winners!

 

Our Amazing Band, under the direction of Mr. Hammond, was awarded by the Florida Bandmasters Association District Band Concert Superior Award!

 

The Spring S.T.E.A.M. Multi-Cultural Showcase took place on March 3rd featuring a gallery walk of a variety of our innovative elective programs, showcase student work and clubs, a live student wax museum of multi-cultural figures, performances by our band, chorus, speech/debate and various student talents.

 

Our PTSA Game ON! Fundraiser has been a huge success and we encourage families to continue completing their submissions!

 

Flag Football- Girls won their 4th straight district title! They were eliminated in the Quarterfinals. LCMS Boys came in 4th in their district!

 

Girls Fast Pitch Softball - The inaugural Lions Girls Softball Club has begun with help from the City of Coconut Creek Girls Softball League. They will be involved with 5 other Middle Schools to make a middle school division in the Tri City area.
