Day of Service and Love 2020

Broward County Public Schools has designated Friday, February 14, 2020, as A Day of Service and Love, in commemoration of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School tragedy. It will be a day to give back to the community in honor of the seventeen students and staff who were lost and those who were injured.

A Day of Service and Love will be an early release day at BCPS and attendance by students is mandatory.   Lyons Creek Middle School will be dismissing at 2:00 p.m.

Specific plans for Lyons Creek Middle School include the following:

Staff Spread the Love Breakfast for First Responders (8:30 a.m.)

Staff Social Emotional Learning Student Entrance Greeting (9:05 a.m.)

District-wide Moment of Silence (10:17 a.m.)

School-wide Mindfulness Activity via PA System (11:55 a.m.)
