BCPS Congratulates 2023 National Merit College-sponsored Scholarship Winners
Congratulations to the 25 Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) high school seniors named winners of National Merit College-sponsored Scholarships by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. Officials of each sponsor college selected their scholarship winners from among the finalists in the 2023 National Merit Scholarship Program who plan to attend their institution.
The awards provide between $500 and $2,000 annually for up to four years of undergraduate study at the institution financing the scholarship. This brings the total number of College-sponsored National Merit Scholarship recipients in the 2023 competition to about 3,800.

This year, 153 higher education institutions are underwriting Merit Scholarship awards through the National Merit Scholarship Program. Sponsor colleges and universities include 81 private and 72 public institutions located in 42 states and the District of Columbia.
Additional recipients of college-sponsored awards will be announced on July 10. By the conclusion of this year’s competition, more than 7,140 academic champions will have won National Merit Scholarships worth approximately $28 million.
