Students Get Plugged into High-Tech Career Opportunities with TechGateway Day on Wednesday, January 23

Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) is partnering with the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance, South Florida TechGateway and local businesses to host TechGateway Day on Wednesday, January 23, 2019.
This is the third year for the event, which highlights local computer science career opportunities for students. As part of TechGateway Day, industry leaders from across South Florida will visit select schools to speak with students and take part in activities. Students Districtwide can also explore in-demand, high-wage career pathways through the TechGateway interactive website, techgateway.org.
“We want our students to be excited about the incredible career opportunities available in high-tech industries located right here in South Florida,” said Superintendent Robert W. Runcie. “Partnership events like TechGateway Day help us shine a spotlight on these industries to inspire our students to learn more and potentially pursue these in-demand career paths.”
“Broward County Public Schools continues to be a state and national leader in teaching technology. The Alliance is thrilled to help BCPS students connect with local tech executives to learn about career pathways available to them right here in our community,” said Bob Swindell, President and CEO of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance.

- 10 – 11 a.m.: Lauderhill 6-12 STEM Med, 1901 NW 49th Avenue, Lauderhill, FL 33313 (TechGateway guest is E-Builder CTO Rafael Santos)
- 11:45 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.: Cypress Bay High School, 18600 Vista Park Blvd, Weston, FL 33332 (TechGateway guest is LAN Infotech President Michael Goldstein)
