It is Rocket Science! Broward County Public Schools Students Showcase Rocket-Building Skills at STEM Student Symposium

When was the last time you had an opportunity to design, build and launch a rocket? Thanks to the Broward College Teacher Education Program STEM Student Symposium, about 100 ninth grade students will get to do just that.
WHO:
Students from the Integrated Career and Academic Networks (iCAN) magnet program at South Broward High School and Stranahan High School, and students from the Urban Teacher Academy Program (UTAP) at Deerfield Beach High School.
WHAT:
During the Broward College Teacher Education Program STEM Student Symposium, students will learn about the force of motion as they design, build and launch rockets with professors and college students. Students will also tour Broward College and gain an understanding of the path required to obtain a career in the aerospace and aviation industries.
WHEN:
Friday, February 7, 2020, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
(Rocket launching at 11 a.m.)

Broward College, 7200 Pines Blvd., Pembroke Pines, FL 33024 (at the gymnasium)
WHY:
Broward County Public Schools is partnering with Broward College to provide higher education experiences to students. Through the STEM Student Symposium, the Broward College Teacher Education Program is exposing students to new career opportunities.
