Our goal is to award $1,000 scholarships to approximately 30 selected graduating seniors. Your assistance in promoting and communicating this scholarship program through your art, music and drama departments, BRACE counselors and guidance counselors is requested.
Scholarship awards will be presented at the Stars on Parade gala celebration being held on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, Amaturo Theater, 6:30 p.m.

JRF Scholars receive college scholarships of up to $35,000 over four years and are financially sponsored to attend JRF‘s annual, four-day “Mentoring and Leadership Conference“ in New York City and other events throughout the year. Aside from generous financial support, Scholars benefit from a comprehensive, four-year program that includes career guidance, internship and permanent job placement, travel abroad, and leadership and practical life skills training.
ELIGIBILITYTo be eligible for a Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarship, an applicant must:
- Be a graduating, minority high school senior
- Be a United States citizen
- Present evidence of financial need
- Demonstrate a record of academic excellence
- Demonstrate leadership potential and a dedication to community service
- Submit an official SAT and/or ACT test exam score from junior or senior year*
- Plan to attend an accredited and approved 4-year college within the United States or affiliated with a United States-based college or university
- Have not accrued more than 25% of credits needed to graduate from college.
*JRF recognizes the challenges of taking standardized tests during the COVID-19 pandemic; applicants who do not HAVE TEST SCORES to submit will not be disadvantaged in the selection process.

Miami Dolphins Observe National Scholarship Month with Open Application for the
Nat Moore Scholarship & Vocational Grant Endowment Program for South Florida Students
MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins announced open application and enrollment for the sixth annual Nat Moore Scholarship & Vocational Grant Endowment Program in recognition of National Scholarship Month (November).
The program’s mission is to provide the youth of Broward, Miami-Dade, Monroe and Palm Beach counties with the financial resources needed to pursue avenues of education and training for employment readiness. Guidelines for the scholarship and grant are below:
Nat Moore Scholarship – award amount $10,000 ($2,500 per year for four years)
- Application deadline February 28, 2023, by 11:59 pm EST. No late submissions will be reviewed or accepted.
- Must be a high school senior graduating from a Broward, Miami-Dade, Monroe or Palm Beach County high school in or before June 2022.
- Demonstrate financial need to attend college.
- Minimum high school grade point average of 2.5 (on a 4.0 grade scale, excluding home studies).
Nat Moore Vocational Grant – maximum award amount $3,500 (towards cost of entire program)
- Applicants must be between the ages of 18-24. If current or graduating high school senior, documentation is required.
- Demonstrate financial need.
- Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.

In its sixth year under the Miami Dolphins Foundation, both the scholarship and the vocational grant are designed to bolster efforts in bridging the gap between receiving financial assistance and obtaining a degree or vocational diploma.
Selected through an application process that showcased community service, leadership, financial need and academic standing, this season’s scholarship was awarded to 10 graduating seniors with three additional recipients receiving the vocational grant.

- Who is eligible for the scholarship?
A: Applicants must:
- Be high school seniors residing or graduates who have resided in and attending a high school in Broward County, FL.
- Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Have a passing score of at least 350 on the FSA (Florida Standards Assessment Test) or SAT/ACT concordant score.
- Demonstrate financial need.
- Plan to attend full-time a two-year technical, trade or vocational school in pursuit of a trade or vocational degree or certificate. This scholarship is open only to students pursuing a trade, not to students pursuing an office job.
Additional Desired Qualifications
- First priority will be given to applicants who resided during their senior year in high school within the area boundaries East by the Atlantic Ocean, North by the Palm Beach County/Broward County line, on the West by the center line of State Road 7, and on the South by the center line of McNab Road.
- Applicants whose home address is outside the primary area will be considered for an award after first priority awards are made, if funds are available.
- How do I apply?
A: Interested applicants may apply online at www.csascholars.org/wooler.
Q: How are applications submitted?
A: Applications must be submitted online via the Center for Scholarship Administration (CSA) portal. There are three steps to complete and submit the application:
- Set up an account through the portal.
- Login to the account and complete the application. A confirmation email will be sent when the application is received by CSA. Applicants should contact CSA if a confirmation email is not received.
- Mail in any additional required materials. See list below.
Q: What constitutes a complete application packet?
A: A complete application package includes the following:
- Official transcript with grades and cumulative GPA posted through the latest Fall semester.
- Student Authorization and Acknowledgements Form, found in the online application, signed by the scholarship candidate.
- Personal statement/essay:
- Submit a one-page signed personal statement explaining why the scholarship is important to you. Include your college and career plans.
- List of academic honors, leadership skills, community service, etc.
- FSA Scores (Florida Standards Assessment Test).
- Student Aid Report (SAR) from the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
- W8 or W9 IRS Form, as applicable. This form must be completed by the applicant.
Note: Each item should include both the applicant’s name and name of the scholarship at the top of the page.
Q: When is the deadline for submission of materials?
A: The online application must be completed and transmitted to CSA no later than February 27, 2023. Any required supplemental materials that need to be mailed must be mailed to CSA no later than February 27, 2023 and should be mailed in one package.
Q: What is the amount of the scholarship award?
A: The amount of scholarship awards may vary.
Q: How can scholarship awards be applied?
A: Funds may only be used to pay tuition, required books, materials/supplies, tools and uniforms and should not exceed these costs.
Q: What school may I attend?
A: You must be a full-time student enrolled at any two-year technical, trade or vocational school, in the United States, that awards technical certificates or associate degrees providing the institution meets the following requirements:
The institution must be an educational organization that normally maintains a regular faculty and curriculum and normally has a regularly enrolled body of pupils or students in attendance at the place where its educational activities are regularly conducted. To the extent the institution is involved in the selection of the recipients (if at all), that involvement must comply with the Scholarship Program’s policy of awarding scholarships on an objective and non-discriminatory basis as well as the Scholarship Program’s Conflict of Interest Policy.
Q: How will I be notified if I am chosen as a recipient?
A: All applicants will be notified in writing by email, whether or not they have been selected to receive a scholarship. Those students selected will download a package from their online account that includes a scholarship agreement and information about the scholarship terms.
Q: Is this scholarship renewable?
A: This scholarship is for two years only; however, current recipients may reapply and be considered for additional funding along with other new applicants. Scholarship recipients must be enrolled full-time. Scholarship recipients are limited to two total years of scholarship award and are expected to have been enrolled consecutive years during that time. Students must reapply for additional scholarship awards. Renewal is not guaranteed and students will be included in the pool of scholarship applicants.

Team Bridge 2 Life and Broward County Public Schools BRACE
The PAF Chapter Student Scholarship is designed for high school athletes with intentions to attend a 2-year or 4-year college/university. The scholarship rewards high school athletes for their non-athletic achievements and assist them in achieving their academic career goals. Students are not required to compete in collegiate athletics to receive this scholarship.
Eligibility
1. Overall High School Grade Point Average of 2.0 or better;
2. Must be a high school senior;
3. Acceptance into a two-year or four-year college or university;
4. Nominated by high school coach;
5. Participated at the varsity level in athletics for at least one year;
6. Has not accepted a full scholarship award or grant (athletic or academic);
7. Is not the son or daughter of current or former NFL Player.
Criteria for Evaluation

2. Nomination by coach;
3. Academic achievement;
4. Potential for success;
5. Leadership and character;
6. Indication of how athletic competition has aided in personal growth.
